Who we are and what this covers
Remodeler Studio is an editorial site that publishes articles about home remodeling and materials. This policy explains what information reaches our WordPress site when you visit or interact with it, why we hold it, who can see it, and your choices.
- We do not sell products or take payments on this site.
- We do not run ads, use affiliate tracking, or run analytics on visitors.
- Registration for readers is closed; only site administrators can sign in.
Information that reaches us
You can use most of the site without telling us who you are. Information arrives in a few ways:
- Comments you choose to post. If you leave a comment on an article, WordPress asks for your name, email address, and an optional website URL. Your IP address and browser user agent are recorded at the time you submit the comment to help with moderation and site security.
- Server and CDN logs. Our hosting environment and content delivery network keep standard logs of each request, including IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URL, and timestamp. These logs are used to operate the service, defend against abuse, and diagnose issues.
- Administrator sessions. WordPress sets session cookies for the single registered administrator account so the site can be managed. Visitors who are not administrators do not receive these session cookies.
Comments and what becomes public
When you submit a comment, the text of your comment and the name you provide may be published on the page after manual review. Your email address is not published. We use the IP address and user agent collected at submission time only to help detect spam and manage abuse.
- Comments are reviewed before publication. We may decline to publish or later remove comments that violate our standards.
- If you request it, we will delete your published comment unless we are required to keep it for legal or security reasons.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses very few cookies:
- Commenter convenience cookie. If you choose to leave a comment, WordPress can store your name, email address, and website in cookies on your own device so you do not have to retype them next time. These are optional and last for a period set by WordPress.
- Administrator cookies. WordPress sets authentication and preference cookies only for logged-in administrators.
- We do not set analytics, advertising, or affiliate cookies.
Why we keep information
We use the information described above to publish and protect the site, including:
- Displaying comments you choose to submit and moderating spam and abuse
- Operating the site across a hosting provider and content delivery network
- Improving reliability, fixing errors, and securing the service
Who can see the data
Access is limited to those who need it to run the site.
- Site administrators can view pending and published comments and related moderation details.
- Our hosting provider and content delivery network process request logs and may briefly handle traffic to serve pages and keep the service secure. These providers act as infrastructure processors for us. We do not publish their identities here, and we do not grant them permission to use visitor data for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Published comments and their metadata are kept until you ask us to remove them or we remove them during routine housekeeping. Server and CDN logs are kept for a limited period suitable for operations and security, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Backups may retain deleted items for a short time before they expire.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you on this site
- Ask us to correct or delete your information, including removing a comment you posted
- Object to our processing where we rely on our legitimate interests to operate and secure the site
- Withdraw consent for the optional commenter cookies at any time by clearing cookies in your browser
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been infringed
Children’s information
Our content is aimed at homeowners and professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other notes about site features
There are no contact forms or newsletters on this site. Our SEO tooling helps with metadata for search engines and does not add analytics or advertising to pages.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle visitor information, we will update this page. Please check it from time to time.
